ARCHBISHOP’S PALACE – La Valette

Normalement, on dit évêché… Oui, mais là, c’est « ARCHBISHOP’S PALACE », le palais de l’évêque. Un palais pour un évêque ? Oui. Un petit morceau d’histoire pour comprendre.

Nous sommes à La Valette au XVIIe siècle, alors que les Chevaliers de Malte réganient sur l’archipel.

Ou en avril, au moment du Valletta Green Festival – … during the weekend of the Valletta Green Festival 2017 on the 28th-30th April, from 9am-noon and 4pm-7pm.

 

 

 

ARCHBISHOP’S PALACE UNDERGROUND CISTERNS

Underground cisterns that are located underneath the Archbishop’s Palace, will be open to the public.

These underground caves house fresh running water which has been around well before Valletta’s construction and still flows to this day.

The cisterns, along with the garden of the Archbishop’s Palace and the garden at St Catherine’s Monastery will be open during the weekend of the Valletta Green Festival 2017 on the 28th-30th April, from 9am-noon and 4pm-7pm.
